The Playbook
Eat Like Andy Reid: Cowboy Style Philly's
9090 Skillman St; Lake Highlands; 817.522.1319
The Arlington cheesesteakery's just opened a Lake Highlands locale with the same Cowboys-themed interior (yard lines on the floor, team-colored walls), plus beef-wiches like the First Down (sirloin, 'shrooms, peppers, onions, cheese sauce) and the Audible Philly (black beans, rice, corn, something involving DeSean Jackson going deep...), as well as hopefully-not-dirty bird numbers like the chicken-fried-chicken Out of Bounds.
What better way to express your hatred for the Eagles than to...eat their sandwich? Check the menu here, then head to Lake Highlands and devour one.

Do Not Approach: Suspicious Van
Debunking the long-mistaken belief that nothing good ever happens in a van, this photo-blog's creepy mission involves "finding them, documenting them, and in an odd way, cherishing them -- before they show up on Nancy Grace". Included in the gallery are such protective-services red flags as a Baptist church van at an adult video store, a rolling billboard for "Dr. Playground", and one hastily scribbled with the ubiquitous "Free Candy", which is how they lured Chris Farley down by the river.

Collect: Studio 7
5108 Camp Bowie Blvd; Fort Worth; 817.731.0706
From a design-agency owner whose friends needed a place to present their stuff, this gallery showcases seven artists at a time, with opening works including Sarah Greene's comic-book-style renderings of celebs ranging from Bettie Page to Johnny Knoxville, and Californian Michael Ween's paintings done on vintage car parts. The owner's also selling a collection of barware gathered from his world travels, from mod decanters to highball glasses etched with oil derricks -- for when you need something stiffer than a Bud...Adams.
Check out art, barware, and more at their Facebook page

Gray Matter Gourmet: Food For Thought
At The Tower Club: 1601 Elm Street; 214.531.6429
Hosted by the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, this benefit for Big Thought -- which helps further impoverished children's educations -- will feature an open bar, plus food prepared by the likes of John Tesar, Matt McCallister, and Brian Luscher. Meanwhile, Moose Johnston will be on hand to receive the "Gavel of Excellence", for his charity work, and not because when teammates used to make fun of him for watching Party of Five he'd snap "Don't judge me!"
That last part is made up, but the great food & open bar is not. Click here to learn more and purchase your tix.

Shirt Up: HIJ Clothing
Recently revamped, this straight-outta-Dallas t-shirt brand makes outstanding picture/ word puns on soft drinks, like "Dr. Pepper" (stethoscope on a maroon background with "Pepper" spelled out on the circle thingy), "Root Beer" (an actual photo of roots cut out to say "Beer"), and the heart-shaped "Orange Crush", also the 1970s Broncos defensive unit Denver can't seem to fall out of love with, as all their subsequent defenses have been Mountain Poo.
Every piece is limited, so when it's gone, it's gone. Check the online store now to get yourself one.

Stuy Guy: Bed Stu @ JackThreads
Our Bro-town Sounds at JT've got foot fodder from the industrial leatherists like the low-top canvas Zuma, the white plaid Formation slip-on, and the stitch-heavy Fanning flip-flop, though it's better not to waffle when offered a role next to Queen Latifah. Mostly because if she thinks you're a waffle, she'll eat you.
The Secret Life Of Bees was good, but JackThreads.com is better!
