The Playbook
Gorge on Samples: Artizone and The Grape Summer Soiree
At The Grape: 2808 Greenville Ave; Lower Greenville; 214.828.1981
Tomorrow night, the vendor of locally sourced foodstuffs sets up shop at The Grape for a sampler-loaded evening featuring cheeses from Scardello, desserts from La Duni and Kessler Cookie Co., wines selected by the resto's sommelier, and tapas-style selections prepared by Brian Luscher using area suppliers like Rex's Seafood, Larken Farms, Spiceman's FM 1410, and Hirsch's Specialty Meats, which Emile will presumably be selling to desperate women in his upcoming film The Motel Life.
It's only $35, so get your tix here, then head to Greenville for some eats

Hit the...: Dallas Wine Trail
Take a tour of Big D wineries Inwood Estates, Calais, Times Ten Cellars, and Fuqua this Saturday, when your ticket'll get you a 19oz Riedel glass, a full bottle from Inwood, a trio of samples from each stop, and hors d'oeuvres from Kathleen's Sky Diner and The Mozzarella Co. Proceeds benefit the Greyhound Adoption League of Texas, because there's nothing sadder than a bus driver with no one to love him.
3 wines x 4 wineries = 12 wines! Plus that bottle. Get your ticket now by clicking here.

Deck the Walls: Art By Rosemary
This Dallas artist creates room-enlivening abstract works on hand-crafted wooden blocks, from Rothko-esque color panels, to "textured paintings" that give the illusion of depth through layering, as in a merry-go-round-inspired piece intended to represent "that feeling of joy rooted in the now", entitled "Round and Round No5" -- so clearly RATT's still wishing "the now" was 1984.
This stuff will do for your living room what color did for The Wizard of Oz. Check it out here.

Stick It: Brakbudy Magnets
Because your fridge can never be adorned with enough 8-bit badassery, load up with these magnetized classic Nintendo characters, from Mario and Luigi, to King Boo, to Piranha Plants. There's also not-Nintendo action like Ms. Pacman and Pedobear, the latter being the reason the artist doesn't feel comfortable offering a Princess Peach.
Are you crazy? Of course they have MegaMan's robotic dog. Find him and more right here.
