LTE Gains Momentum, But Spectrum Remains an Issue, says ABI Research

Market research firm ABI Research (News - Alert) has been tracking the growth of 4G LTE networks around the world. The market watcher’s study shows that currently 28 commercial FD-LTE networks have gone live and is growing, while there is not a single TD-LTE network that has gone live yet. But, commercial launches of this technology jointly developed by China and Qualcomm (News - Alert) are getting closer to market, according to ABI Research.


With the Global TD-LTE Initiative (GTI) formed in February, the organization is pushing forward the development and adoption of TD-LTE (News - Alert) network.
