The market watcher’s study shows that currently 28 commercial FD-LTE networks have gone live and is growing, while there is not a single TD-LTE network that has gone live yet. But, commercial launches of this technology jointly developed by China and Qualcomm (News - Alert) are getting closer to market, according to ABI Research. With the Global TD-LTE Initiative (GTI) formed in February, the organization is pushing forward the development and adoption of TD-LTE (News - Alert) network. The five-month old initiative includes prominent WiMAX players like Clearwire and P1 as its members, as well as major telco operators in Taiwan, India, Japan, and South Korea...
