Quimby's at 19th & Q19 Cart Pod
Cart food & booze, out of the elements
1502 NW 19th; Northwest; 503.222.3416
Rehabilitating a disgusting dive can be tough: you have to remodel, advertise new ownership, and somehow convince Rodney Dangerfield to stop doing armpit farts on the platform. Giving you a Triple Lindy of drinks, cart food, and comfortable confines: Quimby's at 19th and the Q19 cart pod.
A once-jacked Alphabet Dist. dive that was gutted and remodeled by two pals, one of whom is a general contractor, and the other of whom was really psyched to have a general contractor buddy to gut and remodel things, Q & Q's a new neighborhood tavern wrapped in a cart pod, where you can enjoy a pizza-heavy bar menu or take down nearby cart eats while relishing a stiff drink. The booze-pumping heart of the shebang is Quimby's, which shook off its smoky past to make way for light-flooded confines with hardwood floors and exposed beams, under which you can leverage their full bar or seven taps while noshing on signature thin-crust pies like the whipped Boursin/sour cream/bacon crumbles/red onions/herbs Jazz, so don't buy that for Uncle Phil, cause he'll just kick it out the front door. You can also rock your face with brought-in stuff from Q19, including Sawasdee Thai's standards (from coconut milk Tom Kha to spicy fried rice with pineapple and cashew), big ol' cheesesteaks from Philly's, and no-bean goodness from Chili Outside/Chili Inside, which also describes one of Mr. Davis' more thorough preseason physicals.
Unfortunately, drinks can't go outside just yet, though they plan on adding a huge outdoor deck where pod and bar will overlap as they pump outdoor music, also what Rodney calls it when he's palming his pits on the high-dive.
Get an idea of the cart-food goodness you can finally pair with a tasty bourbon by stopping by ChiliInside.com to get a look at their killer menu
