Happy July 4th! Today as millions of Americans celebrate our independence as a nation, millions across our world are gearing up for July 15th when the Wizarding World will fight on-screen for independence from Lord Voldemort.
In the HPA, we work for independence and freedom as we continue to:
- combat child slavery by encouraging WB to make all HP chocolate Fair Trade
- combat the Dementor Horcrux that debilitates us with anxiety and depression.
- combat the tyranny of governments that forbid same-sex couples from marriage.
Now we face the real world Voldemort’s most prized horcrux: the Climate Crisis. While it’s important for us to respect forests and polar bears, many are missing the point. The Climate Crisis is the world’s greatest threat to humanity.
If our world remains uninspired to face it, the Climate Crisis will trigger off wars for access to water, collapse in the global economy, genocide of refugees, and other horrors beyond imagination. It is time for each of us to tap into the magic of our creativity and to inspire our world to take action.
Just as Harry learned time and again that he could not do it alone, we in the HPA must realize we cannot do it alone. And so on this July 4, it is my most magical honor to introduce you to the HPA’s most incredible project:“Imagine Better.”
