New Updates to Our Website

We have launched many new upgrades to our website this summer and would love your feedback. Our goal is to make our website more user-friendly and build a foundation for our customers to locate product information and make educated purchases with the products we offer. Here’s a bunch of things we have added or upgraded:

· BOGO deals. Buy one get one offers are now available on select items. Many of our BOGO deal offers will be offered on our Twitter, Facebook and our WordPress.

· Tabbed Product Layout. Each item now has tabbed options below the product allowing for an easier navigation of product details, reviews, discounts and more.

· Featured Items. We’ve added special featured items to our homepage. See new items or special deals not advertised.

· Image Zoom. This feature will let you zoom in on a product image and view the detail of the image.

· Advanced Image Gallery. Allows product images to present in product thumbnails along with the primary image and a new pop-out image gallery as well.

· Mobile Web. With the wave of popular Smartphones, we have added an optimized mobile website. Included on our mobile site is a streamlined shopping experience with access to all our great products and we’ve added Mobile Deals, which features specials advertised items on our mobile site.

· We’ve added social widgets. Two of the most popular social network widgets have been added to each product and to the overall site. Now you can easily share or recommend products that you like!

What Can RFID Do for You? Unique Uses of RFID

RFID continues to become an increasingly popular trend worth monitoring as its capabilities seem to be limitless. We have identified some of the not just out-of-the box ways to use RFID, but even out of this world!

NASA is presently undergoing trials with RFID labeling technologies for use in outer space. They have begun initial phases of testing on the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station. While ordinary RFID labels can be used in interior spaces, NASA is trying to determine how an assortment of rugged tags and labels handle the rigors or airless space. Very interesting!

RFID going down the drain? Well sort-of. In Warendorf, Germany, Workers are using RFID to track the maintenance of the city’s 127-mile network of sewage canals and pipes.

Want to Improve Your Photo IDs?

Producing a quality ID photo can sometimes be challenging. It takes cooperation from the person taking the photos and those being photographed. Here are some key points to improving your photo ID images.

· Know the equipment you are working with. Do a couple practice runs and see how the IDs come out before scheduling photo time with employees.

· If employees wear glasses, consider if you want them to wear them in the photo ID. Glasses tend to cause glare. Have employees wear either their uniform or a solid color/collared shirt as they present well in photographs.

· Choose a simple background. We suggest item PPBSS-LB. This backdrop allows for a uniform background in all images which provides a cohesive appearance to all IDs. PPBSS-LB also includes the stand and frame.

· Lighting is essential. Often with fluorescent lighting, images can present with a yellow tint and is the least flattering lighting option. Try to use an area with an abundance of natural light.

· Location, location, location. Use the same location for every picture to produce a cohesive look to ensure predictable results.

· Center the subject’s face and include a portion of the subject’s shoulders.

· Always warn the subject when you are about to snap the photo. Taking several photos of a subject due to blurry images, blinking, etc. adds to wasted time and resources.
