Sue Weaver Perry

After our conversation with Butch Weaver, Detective Armstrong and I thought it might be interesting to talk to his ex-wife Sue, who was married to him back in 1987. She shed some more light on what Butch was like back then and told us a few other things we didn't know.

We asked her if Butch ever mentioned the hidden room while they were married, and she said,

Sue Parker Perry: Not that I remember, but he didn’t talk to me about work or much else. He spent most of his time down at The Juke Joint with Rhonda Pendergrass or on that damn boat.

We also did a little poking around to see what else we could find out about the financial details of Rhonda Pendergrass' purchase of The Juke Joint from Jim Mason.

And the Ole Miss student newspaper is wondering whether there's a connection between a long-standing campus urban legend and Kevin Gilmore's death.

In one version of the tale, the student was caught trying to escape and his body turned up in a remote location days later.

Have you entered the Whodunit Contest yet?

email-contest-reverseIf you know whodunit, you can win a prize by identifying the correct suspect. There are two entry options. Either choose the killer from a list of suspects or create a whodunit theory.

Whodunit theories win the best prizes! Crime Scene forensic shirts and other prizes from our online store will be awarded to winners.

An excellent theory will tell us who your prime suspect is, what that person's motive is, and what evidence points to him or her as the killer.

Entering is easy. A Whodunit Contest entry link appears at the top of every case page. There is no entry fee. The contest is open to everyone.

You have until Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time to submit your entry.

Crime Scene members can Ask the Detective for information they need for their theories, and everyone can review the questions and answers. Have you prepared your theory yet, ?

Yours,

Det. Murphy
