Tomorrow, we tie 1980. Saturday, we break it. So, The Amsterdam's whipped up a celebratory concoction, and an anti-celebratory one, both available for just $3 only to those ballsy enough to sit on their patio: "The Record", a refreshing mix of Burnett's Sweet Tea Vodka dashed with peach schnapps in a tall, ice-filled, lemon-rimmed glass topped with water & soda; and the "To Hell With The Record", a shot involving Tabasco floating on Hacienda Bonita tequila, with a ball of horseradish in the glass's bottom -- signifying that anything Nature throws at you, you'll handle with an abundance of Ric Flair.
The special runs through the weekend for "The Record", and "To Hell With The Record" runs 'til we don't hit 100. Read up on the bar you're heading to right here.

The Oak Cliff chocolatier's just rolled out ice creams (kola nut, blueberry & cream, cocoa nib stracciatella) and sorbets, the latter running from kiwi, honey & macha (green tea), to blackberry & tamarind, to blueberry & fennel pollen, which is thought to be an aphrodisiac for women, and thus a blue-berries antidote for men.

Because this isn't a time for more fabric, the Austin shirtmaker's just hacked the sleeves off select styles of their stretch-and-breathable slim-cut dress shirts, including the purple-check and black-lined Foster, the black-check Toro Canyon, and the white, black-accented, blue-stripe-lined SoCo. They've also unleashed crew- and v-necks made from a micromodal/ spandex blend, but not a spandex bend, because there is no way in hell Jillian Michaels is making you work out today.

Take a Bus: The MATmobile

McKinney Avenue Tavern's helping you stay cool and responsible with the MATmobile, a 25-seat retired school bus -- complete with stop signs and yellow & black paint job -- that they're using to ferry patrons to and from Lakes Lewisville & Ray Hubbard hourly from 11a to 7p on weekends. You can also reserve the thing to take you and your friends wherever else you might want to go cool off, like straight to hell, where the temperature and the music is only 98 degrees.
