Is it the end of an era or just the beginning?
Just weeks after being named the most valuable corporation in the world, Apple has
announced that CEO Steve Jobs is stepping down. The loss of their iconoclastic captain
hasn't slowed the company's pace though, as recent insider scoops reveal that an
iPhone 5 will likely land on the Sprint network in October, and China Mobile, the
largest mobile carrier in the world, might also receive the iPhone.
None of the new iPhones will be LTE-capable, but that hardly matters, according
to a new study from Infonetics regarding LTE deployments.
In other news, Cisco has purchased Axioss Fulfillment Software from Comptel, the
USDA announced rural broadband funding award recipients, and Google rolled out
new tools to enable Android apps to speak the same language as Google TV.
