Facebook's Zuckerberg announces a slew of new features
Facebook's F8 Conference keynote is over and CEO Mark Zuckerberg did not disappoint. The social network -- which now has 800 million members -- is getting a fresh batch of new features, which can be lumped into three major categories:
  • Profile changes: Users will have a "Timeline" page that reconfigures profiles into a kind of digital scrapbook.
  • Sharing changes: The network's sharing features will be deeper than ever, especially with music-integration tools for Spotify that enable listening with friends.
  • API changes: Applications won't have to constantly ask for permission to post content.

It's like a blog network, except that Facebook doesn't have to bother with paying revenue shares to users, Mazmanian writes.
