The Playbook
Every Day's Thanksgiving: Capriotti's
4021 Preston Rd, Ste 616; Plano; 972.596.1999
Born in the '70s when one awesome lady in Wilmington, Delaware's Little Italy decided to whole-roast fresh turkeys every night for sandwich lovers, Capriotti's has finally arrived in Dallas, bringing cluckers like the triple-decker Cran-Slam Club (also w/ cranberry sauce & ham), plus other-meat numbers like the Italian Sausage, the Chicken Cheesesteak, and the Reuben-like roast beef, provolone & cole SlawBeJo -- obviously named for the Facts of Life episode where Nancy McKeon and Lisa Whelchel learned a very important lesson about wearing condiments.
They've just opened their doors on Preston Rd; check their overstuffed lineup here

One Love: One Art
1722 Routh St; Uptown; 214.643.6557
John Tesar's just re-popped the cork on his off-Commissary communal table, with 2 seatings Tues-Sat. Expect both a la carte and 3-course prix fixes on an ever-changing menu that'll include apps like Iberico pork with sherry-braised mission figs, marcona almond dust, and Spiceman's FM1410 micro clippings, plus mains such as beef cheek & chicken liver ravioli (w/ crispy sweetbreads and Parmesan), and almond milk-/clover honey-glazed Alaskan halibut with celery root puree, almond foam, and shaved almonds, so clearly they're of no relation to Duane and Greg.
It's reservation only, and you can bring your own wines if you wish; check a sample menu here

It's Not Scary: Patrizio's Gluten-Free Menu
Tell that wussy, gluten-intolerant friend of yours that he can no longer keep you from eating Italian, because Patrizio's is now offering up a g-free list that ranges from pastas like linguini w/ mussels (sauteed w/ garlic, shallots, tomatoes, chili flakes & parsley) to marsala-cream-sauced Sicilian grilled salmon, served with julienned vegetables, which, unlike Julian'd vegetables, do not come with wikileeks.
Gluten-free pasta that you don't want to feed to your dog! Click here to see the full menu.

Taste The Rainbow: Asador's Infusions
At the Renaissance Hotel: 2222 Stemmons Fwy; Stemmons Corridor; 214.267.4815
Asador's just rolled out an infused-booze program that'll rotate monthly to ensure only the freshest ingredients get you pickled, starting with spiced citrus fig bourbon and raspberry vanilla vodka, both avail by the shot or in a cocktail. Additionally, they're now offering Texas tequilas such as Republic and Santo in "family" flights, which will probably end with you bawling until your mom hands you your Game Gear.
Next month they'll be mixing Melon Tequila and Spiced Apple Bourbon; check the rest of the drink menu here
