The Playbook
Halloween-ing: Party Erotique
At the Aloft Hotel: 1033 Young St; Downtown
This Saturday, head to the Aloft Hotel's mask-mandatory celebration of "sexuality and freedom of expression", a hybrid masquerade, lingerie, fetish, and burlesque event that starts with a pre-party featuring local rope-meisters Dallas Kink as well as a live show by Cherry la Voix, whose single "Unemployed and Having Casual Sex" has been keeping hardworking Downtown New Yorkers awake all night for a month.
They're dead-serious (Get it? Because it's Halloween?) about the mask requirement; check their Facebook page to learn more and get tix

Eat More Dinner: Meso Maya's New Feasting Options
11909 Preston Rd, Ste 1426; North Dallas; 469.726.4390
The North Dallas spot's upping their proteins with dishes like torta ahogada (braised pork shoulder w/ black beans, watercress, Manchego cheese, pickled onion & roasted tomato broth) and carne Oaxaca, a wood-fired NY strip w/ goat cheese rellenos, yellow mole & a black bean/hoja santa tamale wrapped in a traditional Mexican leaf -- wrapping tamales being a fitting end for a physically gifted but staggeringly immature quarterback soccer player.
Yeah they've got 50 tequilas to sip alongside these dishes; click here for their full menu

Get Lucky: Lucky Campbell's Fall Bevvies @ Bailey's
8160 Park Ln, Ste 130; North Dallas; 214.750.8100
The venerable mixologist has just dropped a quartet of ballsy infusions (including tequila with fire-roasted hatch chile, pineapple, and blueberry) to back up an intrepid trio of Hoptails: The Munich (Spaten/cinnamon schnapps), the Radler (Paulaner/Fever-Tree bitter lemon), and the BMW: Ayinger's Celebrator with pecan-smoked apple bourbon and white rose syrup -- though how can you be a Caucasian version of Derrick if you're almost as slow as molasses?
These new masterpieces are only available at the Park Lane location; click here to see the rest of the cocktail lineup
