While there have been plenty of GPS contenders over the last few years, there is now little doubt that Google holds the crown of king of the mobile mapping services. Google recently announced that more than 1 billion people have downloaded the Google Maps application, making it the most used software of its kind in the world. There is certainly very little doubt that the wave of the future in home computing is the tablet PC. That doesn't mean that companies whose life blood is the more traditional desktop and laptop computers aren't going to fight tooth and nail to stay relevant. Dell is one such company that is banking that if they update the traditional desktop, they will be able to stay in the game just a little bit longer. The company is hoping that their new all-in-one computer will generate some real interest in the old reliable home computer sector.
Here's something that Facebook might want to emulate: a feature unique to Google+ that allows users to disable comments and "lock down" posts from sharing - before you actually share.
If you like to "bike and text," you may be out of luck soon, at least if you're a Chicago resident. Chicago's City Council is considering implementing a ban on text messaging while riding a bicycle on city streets, reported the Associated Press.
Although Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE) remains the most popular browser to date, it looks like Google's Chrome is set to surpass Firefox, taking over the second highest spot, according to statistics released by StatCounter.
Despite its popularity and the fact that you can't turn a corner without seeing an iOS device, Apple only made it in the top 10 brand list just now, for the first time ever, in fact.
