Musical Furnishings
Tables for true players
Because you're never gonna get that Oboe Futon just right, there's Musical Furnishings, a line from a newly Portlanded "interactive designer" who creates handsome, sturdy wood...furnishings that all double as fully jam-on-able percussion instruments, perfect for when Phil Collins needs a place to put his Tom Collins. You've been waiting all your life for:

The Rhumba Table: A dining roomer with a 3' x 5' top, it's got 11 re-arrangeable panels that you hit to play whatever instruments have been rigged up below them, including bongos, a snare drum, a cymbal, and a cowbell, though hopefully Christopher Walken comes to dinner with both pant-legs on.

Garden Bench: The slats on this weather-withstanding outdoor bench produce 13 notes that change in tone when wet or dry, and're made of sturdy Western Red Cedar the maker claims is a "very impressive wood", although most guys bench because they lack that.

Duet Table: The top of this Red Alder coffee table accommodates dual 13-key xylophones tuned to "C", so both you and a pal can play together, because any more than that would just turn your apartment into a Land of Confusion.

Head over to their online shop and check out the killer porch swing which you'll have no problem getting a hottie to bang on
