El Cajon Brewing Company
A fermented reason to head inland
110 N Magnolia Ave; El Cajon

Sometimes a little government assistance is necessary to keep something you love -- after all, if they weren't so gung-ho about building a new stadium, the Chargers would already be headed to LA. Wait, that still might happen? Crap... for a city-aided project that'll get you lost in a mug that isn't Eric Weddle's, check out El Cajon Brewing Company.

After two years and a little help from city officials, the two brothers behind ECBC have finally opened their doors and, more importantly, their taps in a place so big Tom Hanks would play "Heart & Soul" and "Chopsticks" with Robert Loggia in it, featuring three dining rooms spidering out from the entrance, as well as a pub area with a massive, flatscreen-backed bar. Acknowledging it's not all about them, the bros' wall o' 40 taps is showing love to other locals like Manzanita and SD Brewing Co, as well as spouting their first four varieties: McFadden's Stout, Belgian Pale Ale, El Cajones IPA, and another pale called Shady Lane, which aptly describes any place you pay to drain your El Cajones. The soon-to-be-expanded-upon vittles menu is stocked with pub staples, but really gets exciting with a trio of Stuffed Burgers where the beef is injected with magic like cream cheese/ jalapeno/ bacon for the "Jalapeno Popper", mozz/ pepperoni/ sausage to make it "Italian", or feta/ olives/ onion to make it "Greek", but thankfully not the "Ancient Greek" because then the beef would be the thing injecting everything.

Because "ultimate" makes even the Frisbee better, you can add some to your burger, turning it into the Ultimate Stuffed Burger, in which those crazy, aforementioned burgers are fried up after being beer-battered, as opposed to the El Cajon city council, which was merely beer-buttered.

It's funny you ask, they DO have donut bread pudding! Pair your day with suds and sustenance right here.
