Good morning Andrew, reprint of this morning's silver and gold update sent to all client at 8:00 AM Eastern
Looking across the Atlantic we find the metals trading higher as a new flurry of European worries drive investors and traders towards the safe haven of precious metals....Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou will likely step down this week leaving the current Greek government in shaky disarray as a new coalition government will have to be established......Meanwhile Italian bond yields are surging as traders express concerns over Italy's financial future...There are now rumors that the Italian Prime Minister may resign.....While neither of the issues are a shock or totally unexpected, they continue to course through the investment markets like on again off again bouts of European heart palpitations....It appears Euro-zone blood pressure is on the rise this morning......Looking at the metals we find Silver up 43 cents at $34.55.....Gold is higher by $21.00 and changing hands at $1775.00...Palladium sits at $660.00 up $2.00....Platinum is $1641.00 up $5.00 per ounce....The Euro currency is lower by 23/100ths of U.S. cent at $1.3757.....Interestingly; Crude Oil remains higher despite the worries and the firmer U.S. Dollar...Last trade $94.64 up 38 cents....The day is young......As for the stock markets; European stock indexes are lower by about a 1/2% with the Dow indicating a 45 point lower open....Like I said; the day is young, and all eyes remain on Europe....That's it.....Have a good morning....
