Card Writer Spotlight:

OperationPAL recently received a big box full of handwritten cards. In it was a
note which read:

"OperationPAL,

Thank you for all you do for the troops. An entire school district in Sylvania,
Ohio wanted to write to injured Marines. Please distribute accordingly.

God Bless!

Joel"

Joel, we so appreciate all the cards your school district mailed to us! They will
provide much support and comfort to our wounded soldiers. OohRah to Sylvania, Ohio
- and Joel, we noted your mention about having recently served in the Navy. Thank
YOU for your service to our country!

Greetings!

Thank you for joining us for this issue of Operation PAL News, we are grateful for
your continued involvement in this impactful program!

We hope your Halloween was spooky and wicked good. Below we've included a photo
of some of the cards we received that were sent to help our wounded warriors celebrate
the season.

October 30th was the day of the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington D.C. Many of
our wounded warriors were able to participate this year for various causes, so
if you were anywhere near the area, we hope you were able to get yourself to the
finish line at the Marine Corps Memorial in Arlington to sit in the bleacher seats
and cheer them across the finish line! We have a note below from Eddie's parents
about his participation in the Marthon. We also know, to name a few of our current
and former PALs, that Juan, Josef, Matthew, Michael, PJ and Joshua were all in it
to win it! We hope to get some pictures by the next issue.
With the holidays coming up, we expect a heavy incoming of cards and letters for
our PALs. If you would like to donate to OperationPAL to help us cover postage
expenses click here for more information. [http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?llr=qovdcsbab&et=1108210550176&s=60280&e=001LraTfTXhAZfd24PEydUCoboNkPUWRz23rH7xoqLep9rKl4jl1YRSwFtRyTu-xDUz105_t34wGo3QfO8dUfI9T5Op5LoTE0HMUBB91TFZUhpUFSl-7VUqSzVEfjg2ANxjHi1UUtc0rXGMVvBkJYRXA5vmCQDyWEsCJ7E1hBABZVQ6qbsQiVsxDQ==]
It would be awesome to blow our goal way out of the water this year! Thanks everyone!

LCpl. Jeff 3/5 Lima Co.
Participant Spotlight

LCpl. Jeff on deck to greet his Marine brothers back from Afghanistan.

Jeff's Mom has provided us with an update on her son that we'd like to share with
you. She wrote,

"Jeffrey seems to be doing ok, although he is very anxious to get back home. Lately
he has sounded quite good and has taken two weeks of a computer class and seems
to love it. He may go into that field in some way when he gets home. The class is
one that the instructors go to the guys and offer it every now and then. He was
also going to start a math class to keep busy and help later since he wants to go
back to some kind of school when he gets home. But, when he started the computer
class, he knew he would have to wait to do the math as it took a lot of energy
for the long 8-5 computer class. His math class would have started at 5pm and was
for 3 hours so he knew he couldn't last from 8-8 on those days and be coherent!
He also received his "definitive" leg/foot last week and loves that, too. This should
be the last leg he needs-at least to leave there, I believe. Jeffrey has started
the med board process to get a medical discharge and it takes quite awhile to go
through all the "processing" it requires.

Where Are They Now?

LCpl. Sam 2nd CEB

LCpl. Sam walks down the aisle with his beautiful bride after the wedding ceremony.

Remember Sam? He was injured by an IED in Afghanistan in January of 2010. He suffered
compound fractures to both legs and lost his right foot in the explosion. However,
Sam, a very athletic young man, pushed through all his surgeries and rehab and was
out playing softball as quickly as he was able.

Although he is no longer on our list, Sam recently let us know he tied the knot
with Kristin on August 28th, 2011, amid a very timely lull during Hurricane Irene,
and shared with us a link to a beautiful video that will make you feel like you
were there. Seeing him walk down the aisle and dance at the reception will bring
you tears. That's our Sam.

PAL's Mission to Support Brothers

Sgt. Eddie 3/2

Sgt. Eddie in the Marine Corps Marathon last year

Sgt. Eddie 3/2 was not able to make the trip for fundraising at the Marathon this
year, but we still want to get the word out about his efforts. He trained and was
ready but the October storm dropped over a foot of snow where the family lives and
it was not a safe situation in which to make the big trip.

Eddie's Mom and Dad had sent us this update so you could be aware of and help his
cause:
"We want to let you know that Sgt. Eddie will be participating once again in the
Marine Corps Marathon on October 30. He will be participating on his adapted hand
cycle with team America 4R Marines. His desire is to raise monies for his brother
Marines and for our Navy Corpsmen still in harm's way. We have included a link to
his fundraising webpage and would greatly appreciate you visiting the page and helping
spread the word. All donations are tax deductible and greatly appreciated. We are
so very proud of our son, who is a testimony of God's grace & mercy, and we are
in awe of his courage, motivation and desire...OOO-Rah!! God bless our troops!!
Thank you to all...Sincerely, Angie & Chris"

to make a contribution to Eddie's mission.

We know that every dollar will go a long way in aiding our selfless servicemen and
women on the front lines. With your help, he will make his brothers proud!

Thank You

Thank you so very much for remembering our wounded and ill warriors when you write
and pray. Your kindness is most appreciated.
