Amazon deal: 10% instant rebate on Pamela's gluten-free baking mixes

Amazon: Save 25% on Pamela's Baking MixesMany Parenthackers and their kids follow gluten-free diets. I know this because we experimented with going gluten free for a time, and the outpouring of support was remarkable.

(Gluten is the protein found in wheat, barley, rye, and some other grains, and is an increasingly-common cause of dietary sensitivities and allergies.)

We're back to eating gluten, but I still recall the challenge and expense of the early weeks on the gluten-free diet. I tried a ton of different gluten-free products and was mostly disappointed (and quite a bit poorer).

One exception: Pamela's gluten-free baking mixes. I could count on them to make gluten-free bread and pizza crust my kids would eat. I still keep a package in my pantry in case I have a gluten-free guest.

I don't usually post about items with small Amazon discounts, but given that the price-per-unit there is already good and that going gluten free can be so expensive and intimidating for newcomers, I decided this was worth sharing.

If you're a regular buyer of Pamela's mixes, you can combine this 10% instant rebate with an additional Subscribe & Save 15% discount for a total discount of 25%.

At Amazon: Save an Extra 25% Off Pamela's Baking Mixes

Includes mixes for bread, pancakes, cornbread, brownies, chocolate chip cookies, cakes, and chocolate frosting.

10% instant rebate (and, if you take advantage of it, 25% instant rebate + Subscribe & Save discount) ends December 31, 2011. 15% Subscribe & Save discount ongoing. I have not been contacted or compensated by Pamela's -- I'm just a satisfied customer.

Boot camp! I finished it! (Or perhaps I've just started it?)

Either way, the experience taught me an important lesson about my biggest obstacle. I challenge you to face yours.
