VESTAVIA, Ala. (Dec. 10, 2011) -- Play continued at the US Youth Soccer ODP Boys NCAA Interregional in Vestavia, Ala. Day two saw plenty of goals, but only one victory as three games ended tied up.
Continuing its tradition of elite competition and player development, youth from the nation's top player identification program, US Youth Soccer ODP, will train and compete in front of national staff and collegiate coaches to maximize their exposure for selection to the next level of play. More US Youth Soccer ODP players have been called into Youth National Team camps than any other ID program, including 129 of 148 players called into U-14, U-15, U-17 and U-18 camps since September 2011.

1994
Right from the kickoff, Region II controlled possession and Neal Sampson maneuvered his way through the middle of the field and created a one-on-one with the keeper. Sampson won the battle and put Region II on the board just a minute into the game. Less than 15 minutes later, Region IV leveled off the head of Aaron Caprio. In another standout performance, Jaime Velasco added a goal for Region IV in the 25 th minute to give his team a 2-1 lead at half. John Manga leveled the game again with a Region II goal in the 73 rd for the 2-2 tie.
In the lone victory on the day, Region I beat Region II 5-0. Enrique Hidalgo gave Region I a 1-0 lead at half with a 20 th -minute strike. Three goals in the last ten minutes secured the win for Region I, with Andrew Wheeler-Oniunu, Evan Sosnow and Matthew Bolduc finding the net.
1995
Region III took the lead over Region I in the 27 th minute as Tyler Long finished a cross from Clayton Muehlstein. Esai Cortez capitalized on a error by the Region I keeper to double the lead. From a Region I corner kick, Joseph Iraola elevated above the defense to win the header and pull one score back before halftime. In the second half, Long returned the favor to Muehlstein, setting Clayton up for a goal in the 57 th . Taylor Dempsey made the score 3-2 with a goal for Region I in the 70 th . Just before the final whistle, Peter Pearson finished a corner kick to pull Region I even, 3-3.
Two goals in the first five minutes by Raymond Saari and Dalton Amez gave Region II an early lead over Region IV. That lead would stand until the 59 th with an easy finish for Anthony Macchione of a great set up by Matthew Coffey for Region IV. A goal in the 75 th minute by Kouri Nago completed the comeback and the game ended 2-2.
