New Generation of Humanoid Robot Launched by Aldebaran


The latest version of the NAO robot has been released by Aldebaran Robotics. The new fully programmable humanoid robot is known as NAO Next Gen. New perspectives and fields of application for its users are being opened up by NAO Next Gen with its extensive worldwide use. An announcement in this regard has been made by the top global company in humanoid robotics, Aldebaran Robotics.


In a release, Bruno Maisonnier who is the Founder and Chairman of Aldebaran Robotics said, "The inception of this new generation of NAO robots means a lot to our company. We are proud to be in a position to provide our customers with endless options, whatever their sector. With NAO Next Gen coming of age, we shall be able to make it serve organisations that care for autistic children and those losing their autonomy."

According to Maisonnier, with an aim to contribute to humankind's well-being, Aldebaran Robotics was created in 2005.


The company has sold 2,000 robots worldwide three years after it started selling its first NAO models. The latest generation of its programmable humanoid robots has been now released by Aldebaran Robotics. Apart from research and teaching, these robots will be useful for exploring the new area of service robotics.

A new on-board computer based on the powerful 1.6GHz Intel (News - Alert) Atom processor has been fitted in NAO Next Gen. Multi-tasking calculations are therefore possible. Other features include two HD cameras attached to a field-programmable gate array or FPGA. The simultaneous reception of two video streams is now possible.
