Good afternoon Andrew,
Metals recovered the bulk of the morning losses to end the session mixed.....Silver underwent an 80 cent reversal to close the day up 41 cents at $32.76.....Gold managed to close with a minor loss of only $2.00 at $1729.00....Palladium surged $28.00 to finish at $674.00.....Platinum remained underwater with a $10.00 loss ending at $1526.00....London traders are ascribing the upturn to bargain hunting and nervous short covering as the Eurozone debt debacle resolution remains murky........Meanwhile the Euro is still under modest pressure in the wake of the Standard and Poors European credit rating downgrade warning....Last trade $1.3396 down 58/100ths of U.S. cent since yesterday's closing wrap up.....On the energy front the price of Oil continues to be flat as the opposing forces between European recession fears and Iranian oil worries are keeping a lid on directional changes....Last trade $101.07 up 8 cents.....As for the stock market the Dow is still up 45 points with two hours left in its trading day....That's about it.....I'll be back in the morning with the latest.....Have a good afternoon....
