The Best Antivirus for 2012

Of course, 2012 is just starting, but PCMag has had
access to all the major security suites for the last few
months. We have been busy testing and now we have some
winners. The security market has changed a lot in the last
few years and as the big suites swell to include ever-more
features, the applications that are focused squarely on
antivirus have been devoted to effectiveness and
performance. See how they stack up before you make a
purchase.

Google Releases 'Android Design' Style Guide

I am an Android user and fan but I have to admit, the apps
can get pretty ugly. That might change now that Google is
offering up its Android Design Style Guide. They are just
suggestions, but they should help developers build better
apps. Check out Chloe's story for all the details.

How to Bypass SOPA Restrictions

SOPA is inching closer to a vote and as it does, there are
a lot of people asking how they can bypass the law's
restrictions. Geek.com has some answers. Be warned: None
of these are full-proof, since the precise restrictions
are not in place yet. They mostly involve trying to avoid
DNS blocks by navigating directly to IP addresses.

How Intel’s Medfield will dismantle ARM

After years of promises, Intel is finally making good on
promises of a low-power mobile processor. The company has
signed up Motorola to build Medfield-based cell phones
this year, and more announcements are certainly coming.
While most of the tech press is a little skeptical of
Medfield's market potential, ExtremeTech.com's Sebastian
Anthony is much more bullish. Check out his full report.

Hulu Plus Hits 1.5 Million Subscribers

What a difference a year makes. Last January, Netflix was
eating Hulu's lunch. Now, Hulu has 1.5 million subscribers
and Netflix has lost 800,000 subscribers in the last 12
months. I'm still not convinced that Hulu can keep all of
its content partners happy in the long term, but right now
it is rolling.
