Move Over Bobby Digital
Cory Gaiser's hitting Dallas with his best shots
If just any old digital photo was fit to hang, your wall would be showcasing a pic of your weenis next to a flattering airplane bottle of booze -- or at least it would if you hadn't deleted that one. What? Seriously, delete that. Making truly wall-worthy digital art: Cory Gaiser.
A Dallas digital artist/designer and art director, Gaiser prints everything from photo collages to digi mixed media on stirring canvases (backlit polyester or brushed silver film, etc), hand-embellishes when appropriate, then mounts them on acrylic or woods from Birch to Radiata Pine, which like most California-coast natives, really digs all these cool colors, man. Some choice works:
Shack You'd Almost Live In It Looks So Sweet: This luxury condo-minimum was shot on Panama's Isla Carenero, in Bocas del Toro, making it the best thing to come out of a bull's mouth since Steve Kerr said "Jordan, if you punch me again, I'll f***ing cut you".
Mother: Gaiser's taken another artist's watercolor-of-undying-devotion and transferred it onto a digital background, because when it comes to digital art, you can Doowutchyalike.
Dallas Skyline: This dizzying rendering of the City That Only Sleeps So It Can Wake Up and Party Twice As Hard is coated with a liquid laminate guaranteed to prevent fading and cracking for 75yrs, though thanks to Dallas's own size obsession, by then these buildings will've been replaced three times over.
