Mango

Mango is the first major update for Microsoft Windows Phone 7.  Mango, or Windows Phone 7.5, is expected to add more than 500 new features for smartphones and mobile devices that use the Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system, including visual voicemail capabilities, support for third-party multitasking, a fully HTML5-compliant Web browser (Internet Explorer 9 Mobile), integrated instant messaging via Facebook and Windows Live Messenger, face-detection software capabilities, the ability to save and share Microsoft Office documents through Office 365, smarter Live Tiles, custom ringtones, threaded e-mail and messaging (Messenger, SMS, MMS) conversations support and more.

Windows Phone 7's Bing search tools are also expected to be upgraded in Mango, with turn-by-turn navigation and voice guidance added to Bing Maps, product barcode scanning and OCR text translation introduced in Bing Vision, a local business locator added in the form of Bing Local Scout and more.

Mango was released to manufacturing in July 2011, and smartphones with Mango support are expected to become available in the near future.
