Wednesday Morning Silver and Gold Update for 1/25/12.....Peter R....Southern Trust Metals, Inc.

Good morning Andrew,

Looking across the Atlantic we find the metals complex trading flat to a shade lower with a weaker Euro; and still no signs of Greek debt deal leading prices to the downside....Silver is $31.82 down 26 cents.....Gold is $9.00 lower at $1656.00.....Palladium is up $2.00 and changing hands at $684.00....Platinum is $1550.00 down $1.00....The Euro currency slipped another 76/100ths of cent versus the Dollar at $1.2959......Meanwhile; Crude oil is down another 77 cents after Tuesday's API Oil Inventories clocked in with a surprising 7.3 million barrel rise in supplies....The more closely watched EIA Inventories are due out this morning, but traders are not taking a chance and stepping to the sidelines in advance of that report.......Last on Crude $98.18......As for the stock markets; Asian issues closed with gains of 1%......Euro-zone markets are lower by .7%......Domestically; the Dow is being called to open 50 points lower adding on to yesterday's loss of 33........The expected lower open stems from a number of factors.....Concerns over the Greek debt situation, expectations for a decline of 3% in today's Pending Home Sales Report, and a feeling of discomfort among the Wall Street crowd in the wake of President Obama's State of the Union Address....Today's main event will be the 12:30 PM Eastern interest rate decision by the Federal Reserve Open Market Committee.....It is widely expected that rates will remain unchanged, but there is growing speculation regarding the accompanying statement.....Will the Fed hint at a new round of economic stimulus (QE3)?....The rumors continue to swirl.....That's it.....Have a good morning.......
