By using the Blue Coat MACH5 WAN Optimization appliance, one can now scale and optimize RTMPe and RTMPte encrypted Adobe Flash video and seamlessly maintain end-user digital rights management (DRM). The MACH5 solution already had the provision to optimize Adobe Flash, Microsoft Silverlight, HTML5, QuickTime and Microsoft Windows Media videos along with the capabilities to deliver them. The new ability to optimize encrypted video is stated to be useful to those who rely on cloud-based delivery services. In 10 years, there will be 50 billion devices connected to the Web, according to Hans Vestberg, Ericsson president and CEO. In a presentation at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders in Stockholm, Vestberg said in the future the only people who will benefit from "being connected will be connected." Dharmesh Mistry, CTO of edge IPK, said the only way users would survive using multiple devices is with HTML5 support.
