The iPhone is now proving more popular than the BlackBerry among the corporate crowd, at least according to a recent study from mobile services company iPass.

Back in 2009, Cloud Telecomputing introduced Glass, one of the first IP phones to incorporate Android on the desktop. As the company starts to ship handsets in quantity, others are rolling out their spins on Android desktop phones for the business world. ESI and Panasonic have both announced new phones incorporating Android.

Service provider Integra Telecom Inc. is expanding its portfolio with cloud-based collaboration and messaging services. New from Integra are hosted Microsoft Communication Services, including Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Outlook 2010, Microsoft Lync, Microsoft SharePoint, enhanced encryption and other valuable features.

Microsoft Dynamics will soon offer a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) service update that will include a cloud-based, cross-platform and native mobile application. According to a company announcement, when Microsoft Dynamics CRM releases its next service update during the second quarter - perhaps in May - it will let customers access Microsoft Dynamics CRM on any device for Windows Phone 7, iPad, iPhone, Android and BlackBerry mobile devices.

At its Southwest District bi-annual partner briefing, Microsoft acknowledged contributions made by its partners and honored hosted Exchange company Perficient Inc., with the Best Practice Award.

According to a recent press release, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSEC) have awarded FIPS 140-2 certification to Research In Motion's BlackBerry smartphones running on BlackBerry 7 and BlackBerry 7.1 Operating Systems.



Cryptzone, mitigation experts for IT threats and risks, recently published the results of a survey that revealed that a large number of users of Microsoft SharePoint fail to comply with security protocols and ignore the threat of exposure by continuing to copy sensitive data or documents to unsecured hard drives and USB keys.
