Metals ended the New York trading day surprisingly flat given all the hoopla surrounding the Greek debt deal......Perhaps traders are already looking to the future for some other geo-political event to key off of....Keep in mind it remains to be seen how the Greek population ultimately accepts the deep cuts....That said; at the close we find Silver sitting at $33.76 up 19 cents.....Gold is $1.00 lower at $1723.00.....Palladium slipped $5.00 to finish at $706.00......Platinum ended at $1653.00 off $10.00....Some traders point to the Euro which fell from the morning levels to $1.3215 up a paltry 8/100ths of U.S. cent.....In the energy markets Crude oil remains solidly higher after the Greek government passed an austerity program required to receive international aid and avoid a messy default, which raised hopes for the global economy and for more oil demand.....The ongoing Israeli-Iranain tensions added to the buying pressure....Last on Oil $100.51 up $1.84 per barrel......As for the stock markets; Europe closed with gains of .3-.8%.....Domestically; the Dow sits at 12,871 up 69 points with two hours remaining in the trading day.....When we return tomorrow the economic calendar resumes with an important data point.....Traders will be anxiously awaiting the January Retail Sales report....I'll be back in the morning with the latest estimate along with any overnight news of significance...Until then; that's it.....Have a good afternoon.......
