But, imagine asking that question to millions of people and receiving the full spectrum of responses. While some responses may affirm that you are attractive, others might be unspeakably cruel. A teenage girl recently posted video of herself on YouTube asking the question, “Am I ugly?” The video received three million views and many positive affirmations. However, some people responded with unguarded contempt. “You’re really pathetic for uploading this video,” posted one viewer. “You knew you would get hate” said another. Much has been made of cyberbullying on social media sites. According to the Pew (News - Alert) Research Center, at least 70 percent of teens have witnessed some form of cruelty to others online. In addition to Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites, YouTube (News - Alert) has joined the ranks of bona fide cyberbullying venues.
