Good morning everyone,
Looking across the Atlantic we find the metals complex trading moderately lower in the face of a slightly firmer U.S. Dollar....Traders are bidding up the Dollar in advance of this morning's final wave of U.S. economic data....Industrial Production for February is expected to be up .5% versus January's gain of 0% .....The University of Michigan Sentiment Index of Consumer Confidence is estimated to be 75.8 compared to 75.3....A small gain, but a gain nonetheless.....Retail inflation in the form of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) looks to be up .4% versus up .2%....Again we see signs of rising inflation......According to Dow futures; traders are playing close to the vest in early going.....Dow futures are indicating a 15 point higher open.....Yesterday the Dow ended with a 59 point gain......
Over in Europe the stock indexes are currently up .3-.4%.....Asia closed mixed....The euro currency is down 14/100ths of cent versus the U.S Dollar.....Crude Oil 32 cent higher despite an announced coordinated plan by Great Britain and the U.S. to tap our respective Oil Reserves if necessary.....Last on Crude $105.43 per barrel.....
As for the metals; we have Silver changing hands at $32.46 off 25 cents.....Gold is $10.00 lower at $1649.00 per ounce.....Palladium sits at $707.00 down $2.00....Platinum is $1674.00 off $15.00.....
