 | During a portion of today’s trading session I had a flashback to the movie Frankenstein, specifically when Dr. Frankenstein yelled “It’s Alive!” Like the monster in the movie, the lifeless lump of the heretofore rotting carcass known as the S&P500 had a heartbeat. Intra-day volatility increased. Breathlessly, traders noticed that the volume was sharply higher. My God, I thought – “It’s ALIVE!”
Shockingly, the market just experienced two down days. YES! Two full days without a higher close. Shocking, indeed! Coupled with real volatility during the intra-day trading session and not just what is reported on TV – higher closes with absolutely no volatility during the day – one must wonder: Is the winter weirdness over?
