The Malt Ball
Beer, now paired with local bands
Get ready for a real whopper of a Saturday, because the Malt Ball festival wants to fill your earholes with diverse local sounds ranging from indie folk to dark metal, while it rocks your liver with a serious slate of local brews, many crafted to be paired with a specific band, meaning you can finally move beyond drinking everclear with Everclear.

A preview of the malted musical mayhem:

Laurelwood + The Archers: Because they're very normal, Laurelwood played the band's energetic pop/rock to the yeast during the entire primary fermentation of a batch of Free Range Red, also what you tell communists when trying to give them your old stove.

Breakside + Denver: The Penn-hailing members of Denver (which's not the least bit confusing) assisted Breakside in creating a "clean, mildly hoppy, refreshing" riff on Yuengling, so basically not anything like Yuengling.

The Commons Brewery + The Golden Bears: Commons crafted a golden saison with a noble hop finish meant to be "enjoyable if consumed the entire duration of a Golden Bears show". It's called the Haver Bier, or what you should do when your gf reveals that she hates golden saisons with a noble hop finish.

Portland U-Brew + Lord Dying: This hoppy, boozy, rye-tinged Cascadian Dark was brewed specifically to be "as black as the souls of Lord Dying themselves" -- though drink too much, and it'll be So Much for Aftershow.

17 beers and 12 bands for $20 is pretty much the best deal ever, so swing on over to StrangerTickets.com to see the full insane line-up and get tickets early
