U.S. stocks stayed strong Thursday as more private bondholders looked prepared to swap their Greece-issued debt, preventing an abrupt bond default that could stymie Greece's second aid package...It is the last of the immediate hurdles facing the Greek economy....European stock markets gained about 2%.....The Euro currency remains buoyant at $1.3260 up 1.14 cents against the U.S. Dollar.....Crude Oil sits at $106.79 up 63 cents.....The metals complex also remains firm with Silver ended the session up 32 cents at $33.83....Gold gained $15.00 to $1698.00.....Palladium rose $18.00 to $704.00...Platinum finished at $1663.00 up $31.00 per ounce...Volume was moderate.....As for the U.S. stock market; the Dow is still up 70 points, but a bit of the early morning luster faded after today's Weekly Jobless Claims disappointed with a reading of 362,000 first time claims for unemployment....The Street expected 355,000.....Keep in mind that the main event takes place tomorrow morning when the U.S. government releases the Monthly Non Farm Payrolls Report....Traders will be adjusting portfolios into today's close in accordance with their hopes or fears regarding Friday's data......The current estimate sits at 206,000 new net jobs versus January's 243,000....There has been growing talk that we may get a negative surprise....Even 206,000 might disappoint many participants....The data hits the tape tomorrow morning at 8:30 AM Eastern....I'll have the final estimates in tomorrow's morning update....Until then; that's it......Have a good afternoon.....P.S. please let me know if you prefer today's larger font size....
