March 17, 2012

Dear Indiana,

Today, Food & Water Watch activists around the country are taking part in a national day of action and sending Walmart a clear message: don't sell Monsanto's unlabeled, untested and potentially unsafe genetically engineered sweet corn in your stores!

Why target Walmart? Because they're the biggest food retailer in the U.S. — no other chain has their purchasing power. If they join Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and General Mills in rejecting GE sweet corn, farmers aren't likely to plant it.

From coast to coast, Walmart can't ignore the hundreds of people protesting outside their stores. But, even if you can't make it to one of our store events, you can still join in on the fun in one of three ways:

  1. Join the virtual rally: Add your pin to our map indicating that you stand with thousands of people around the country who oppose Monsanto's GE sweet corn.
  2. Call Walmart at 877-796-1950: Give Walmart's customer support line a ring and tell them to just say NO to GE sweet corn.
  3. Deliver petitions to your local Walmart: We have thousands of petition signatures from around the country that you can download right now and deliver to your local Walmart.

We already know that Walmart is aware of this issue, which is why now is the time to up the pressure. With your help, we can make sure that Walmart hears from us not only in their stores around the country, but also via their customer support center and social media.

Regardless of whether you can help us out by joining the virtual rally, making a call or delivering petitions to your local Walmart, you will be a key part of making our day of action a success.

Thanks for joining us,
