CLICK THE IMAGE TO BEGIN Finishing Wood with Alan Noel Preserving Patina When working with antique furniture, dents and dings on the surface may pose a problem during the finishing process. With antiques, I take the approach to try and determine which dents or dings are the result of "use" versus "abuse". This in turn leads me to a course of action to begin the finishing process and to save as much of the patina as possible. What IS patina, and what are the steps to preserve it? Ask the Staff Question: Does anyone have a fast and easy way to obtain a straight edge on rough lumber? I have a planer/molder and would like to make some base molding in 8-12 foot lengths, but find them too long to get a true edge using my jointer. Any help would be appreciated. Another Testimonial for the WOOD SLICER This is just a quick note to tell you how satisfied I am with the Wood Slicer bandsaw blade I bought from you. Though it was somewhat of a chore to bring it to Brazil, it was worth all the effort. It cuts fast and makes a very thin kerf. Resawing has never been so pleasant. Next time I'm in the U.S., I plan to get other sizes. I would like to visit your shop in Atlanta.
