| Friend -- Here's what the head of the GOP said yesterday to dismiss his party's anti-women agenda: "If the Democrats said we had a war on caterpillars, and every mainstream media outlet talked about the fact that Republicans have a war on caterpillars, then we'd have problems with caterpillars." He continued: "It's a fiction." So if you've been worried about Mitt Romney's promises to overturn Roe v. Wade, limit access to birth control, and de-fund Planned Parenthood, know that his party chair Reince Priebus wants you to rest easy, because it's all in your head. Here's the response we're getting together to send Reince Priebus: "Nope." Take a second right now to let these guys know that the GOP's assault on women's health is real, and it's inspiring us to dig in and fight back alongside President Obama. I'd like Reince Priebus to say which part of this is fiction: -- Romney's promise to "get rid of" Planned Parenthood, an organization that provides millions of women access to birth control and cancer screenings -- Romney's support of the radical Blunt-Rubio amendment, which would give women's employers the power to decide if women can get access to birth control -- Romney's declaration that Roe v. Wade is "one of the darkest moments in Supreme Court history" The headlines are right there in the newspapers, and women are already feeling the effects of the Republicans' agenda in the states. Virginia just became the eighth state in the country to mandate ultrasounds for women before they can legally have an abortion. Several other states are considering similar measures, including Pennsylvania -- which may require women in some cases to undergo invasive ultrasounds before getting an abortion. This is all extremely real, we all know it, and it's time we make sure Priebus and Romney do, too: http://my.barackobama.com/Not-a-Fiction It's important that your friends and family know that this is the line the GOP is taking, and join our work to fight back. After you've signed, can you forward this to five friends? Thanks, on all scores. Stephanie Stephanie Cutter Deputy Campaign Manager Obama for America |
