Overseas stock markets began the new trading week markedly lower as the result of last Friday's worse than expected U.S. employment data, and on hotter inflation numbers out of China.....Asian markets fell by .9% to 1.5%......European issues have since bounced from their lows with the averages now ranging from -.1% to up .3%.....Domestically the Dow looks to open lower by 110 points.....On Friday the Labor Department reported 120,000 total new jobs for March while Wall Street expected 202,000....The unemployment rate edged down to 8.2%....I suspect you will start hearing fresh calls for QE3 again....
In other markets Crude Oil is down $1.45 per barrel at $101.86.....The Euro currency remains a shade higher at $1.3076; up 14/100ths of a U.S. cent.....The Dollar fell considerably in the wake of the employment data, but has since recovered most of the loss.....
In London metals trading we find prices flat to higher....Silver sits at $31.76 off 2 cents.....Gold is $13.00 higher at $1642.00 per ounce.....Palladium is $651.00 up $3.00.....Platinum is up $7.00 and changing hands at $1619.00.....
In other news of interest Bubba Watson won the Masters, and CBS news icon Mike Wallace passed away at age 93......That's it.....
