Need a Stunt Double for School or Work? Call Your Friendly Neighborhood Robot


Sometimes you just don’t feel like getting out of bed. Maybe it’s a cold, or maybe you just want to pull a Ferris Bueller and spend the day doing other things. Soon, you may have the ability to send a buddy in your stead, thanks to your friendly neighborhood robot, VGo.


VGo is a robotic telepresence that has been deployed in schools, businesses and healthcare environments. The machine essentially allows users to video conference from afar.


Instead of setting up a stationary camera in your classroom, you can send VGo, who has the ability to turn on wheels so that students can point the camera in a variety of directions. With VGo, students at home can travel from class to class and even interact with their friends in the hallway.


Of course, VGo has many other uses aside from filling in for the chronically truant. Students or workers with disabilities, for instance, can send VGo in their place to class or events.
