Dear Listeners:
I was fifteen, almost sixteen, when Dr. Martin Luther King was murdered. I can vividly remember turning on the TV that night and watching the historic concert with James Brown live from the Boston Garden. Mr. Brown is credited for helping Boston remain violence free that evening. The one and only Godfather of Soul will be featured tonight on Soul Serenade, 7-11pm. Like most major artists it's hard to believe he's gone, but you'll be reminded of his brilliance when you tune in. "I've got ants in my pants, and I gotta dance..." Only Mr. Brown could get away with that! If you missed last week's interview with Tony Bennett you can catch part two on Tuesday evening's Jazz Inspired show with Judy Carmichael. That's Tuesday at 6pm. Mr. Bennett's eloquence when discussing musicians and jazz music is a must hear. Enjoy!
