This Week in
The Sovereign Investor...

Dear Sovereign Investor,

Here are the highlights from this week's Sovereign Investor articles...

Monday, April 30 - The World's Top 4 Safe Havens

Our Conference Insider, Diana Gordon, shares some of Saturday's highlights from last week's Total Wealth Symposium in Cabo, including: the world's top four tax havens, four must-own currencies, asset protection tips and revolutionary investment ideas. To learn more, click here.

Tuesday, May 1 - Delta Airlines Takes Its First Steps into the Refinery Business

Things are changing in the energy world. Delta Airlines took a bold step Monday when it secured a large portion of its future demand for jet fuel by purchasing a Philips 66 oil refinery in Trainer, Pa. However, the move is not without risk. Andy Hecht, our Senior Commodity Editor, reveals that refining margins are often more volatile than the price of crude oil itself, which presents a risk to the airline's portfolio. But, Delta could hit a grand slam if they get this right. To find out more, click here.

Wednesday, May 2 - Get Your Money Offshore Safely… in Less Than 10 Days

One of the primary questions currently up for debate is what happens to America after November 6, the day we vote for the country's next president. That answer, once we know it on November 7, will say a great deal about where America is ultimately headed. But regardless of who takes up residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. next January, there's one particular strategy you can begin to implement today to prepare yourself for tomorrow in America. Jeff D. Opdyke, the Editor of The Sovereign Individual, says the key to surviving whatever comes in America's next election is opening and funding a brokerage account overseas. To learn why you should open a brokerage account, click here.

The Secret Destruction of Paper Money

Has the U.S. Government secretly declared war on cash?

Former Treasury Secretary, Lawrence Summers says, "We are heading [to a digital currency] more rapidly than most suppose. The lives of citizens and central bankers alike will be profoundly altered."

Click here for the full story on how this looming "switch" to digital currency could change the way we trade stocks, shop for groceries, fill up our gas tanks – and ultimately make a handful of investors incredibly rich.

Thursday, May 3 - Opening a Foreign Brokerage Account Quickly and Safely

On Wednesday, Jeff D. Opdyke, the Editor of The Sovereign Individual, told you why to open an overseas brokerage account, and now he's telling you how to open one. Jeff takes you through opening his own brokerage account in Cambodia to show how easy and fast the process is. He tells you the forms he needed to fill out – a brokerage application, an application for a local investor ID number and an application required by Cambodia's version of our SEC. And all in all, it only took him about a week. This process works in generally the same fashion no matter where you go in the world to open an account. To learn more, click here.

Friday, May 4 - The Real Problem With the French Elections

Bob Bauman, our Offshore and Asset Protection Editor, says that the French election can be summed up by the phrase: "Plus ça change, plus c'est la meme chose" – the more things change, the more they stay the same. The two main candidates, Nicolas Sarkozy and François Hollande, may vary on several issues but both disregard that France is in desperate need of government fiscal and spending reform. The national public debt is high and rising at 89% of GDP and unemployment is at 10%, but both candidates have only proposed reducing the national budget by little more than 3% next year. And if France were the next EU country to get into economic trouble, the euro's survival could be in doubt. Click here to learn more about what the election could mean for France – and Europe.

Until next week, stay sovereign,

Mark S Smith

P.S. As the French elections are showing us, no matter what happens, politicians are more interested in power than in real change. Jeff Opdyke has been tracking another example of this occurring in countries around the globe – a move by governments to bring their fiat currencies even further under their control. With this change, governments will be able to track every penny you spend… and look for new ways to tax them. To learn more about this coming trend, click here for Jeff's latest video.
