Hogshead Brewery
The UK invades Denver, brings beer

4460 W 29th Ave; Highland

Anyone who's been to a proper London pub knows that Englishmen don't feel lukewarm about beer. What's weird though, is that they serve it almost that way -- just ask the Brit brewer behind Highland's long-awaited Hogshead, where eight taps'll pour beers (mainly UK-style ESBs) carbonated in a cask, dry-hopped, and then "served at a warmer temp" than we're used to in the States.

The cozy taproom's built into a "retro-styled service station" with "a European feel", and'll be opening tomorrow with this big-three lineup:

Chin Wag: Meant to be sipped and not chugged, it boasts a "chewy, malt-forward mouth feel", and comes with a warning that if you drink one too many, it "may cause you to talk sh*te", for example, "why do you people turn a respectable swear word into something that sounds so silly?".

Gilpin Black Gold: Not quite a coffee beer, it does at least have "hints of chocolate, coffee, and roasted nut", finishes "semi-dry and smooth", and uses an adorable hop called Fuggles, so while you won't want to drink it in the morning, you may want to spoon it.

Lake Lightening: They're gonna brew this session beer year-round, but it's designed to be especially drinkable in the Summertime thanks to "a fresh, hoppy aroma" and "ample bitterness", also what you'll receive should you mention that whole "lukewarm about beer" thing to an Englishman.

Beer nerds would do well to get the lowdown on the tech specs of their brewmaking, at HogsheadBrewery.com
