Good morning everyone,
First things first....The Greek vote turned out better than feared with pro austerity parties taking enough seats to create a favorable coalition party....In other words it looks like Greece wants to remain in the European Community...Initial overseas reactions were bullish with Asian stocks gaining about 1%.....European issues rose sharply, and the Euro currency surged......That euphoria has since faded as Spain's financial problems quickly returned to center stage, and as traders realize that the Greek vote is only the first step to solving its ongoing woes....Greece has essentially managed to kick the can down the road once again.....Let me not forget today's G20 meeting in Mexico where current financial sore subjects will be addressed, also raising anxiety......
Looking across the Pond we find the metals trading flat to a shade weaker in London .....Silver sits at $28.57 off 19 cents......Gold is $5.00 lower at $1622.00.....Palladium is unchanged at $633.00 per ounce......Platinum is $1492.00 up $1.00.....The Euro currency is now fallen into negative territory with the last trade $1.2633 off 87/100ths of a U.S. cent.....Oil is edging lower by 16 cents to $83.87 per barrel.......
Looking towards New York trading we find Dow futures indicating a 42 point lower open.....A disappointing reaction to a mostly better than hoped for election result....That's it....Call for strategies....
