Greetings!
If this is the first edition of the Marine Parents newsletter you have received,
WELCOME! If you are a returning reader we are glad you have joined us and are thankful
for your support.
In This Issue
Marine Week 2012 in Cleveland, Ohio, was a flying (and driving) success, a true
celebration of community, country and the Corps! MarineParents.com staff members
were there the last weekend, and we had a great time meeting Marine families and
spreading our message. Thanks to all who stopped by our tent, and we'll see you
next year!
Also in this issue: Our 2012 Dollar Campaign is in full swing. We're trying to raise
$20,000 to send 1,800 care packages on July 28 to our Marines in Afghanistan combat
zones -- one dollar at a time. Read how you can help.
Are you planning an event in your community to celebrate or honor the Marines? Let
us know what you're doing, and we'll help promote it on our Marine Family Network
website. Learn more below.
MotoMail is a safe, fast way to get letters and photos to your Marines stationed
overseas. We've got the info you need to use it effectively.
And still keep sending us pictures of you wearing the gear you ordered from our
EGA Shop!
God bless and Semper Fi!

Semper Gumby a Marine Week hit

Our unofficial mascot charms Marines

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Want a surefire way to make Marines smile? Ask them to pose with
Semper Gumby.

Strolling around downtown Cleveland, Ohio, during the evening of June 14, 2012,
during Marine Week, MarineParents.com staff members ambushed passing Marines. The
request, Let us take your picture with always flexible Semper Gumby. The Marines
couldn't resist. Men and women, enlisted and officers, all couldn't help but smile
when they saw our unofficial mascot.

And thus began MarineParents.com's weekend at Marine Week.

Set Out a Jar and Become a Star

Help us raise money for our July pack day

Mason jar. Mayonnaise jar. Pickle jar (or pickled egg jar, one of those you might
see in a tavern or the local VFW hall).

It doesn't matter what kind of jar, really. To help support MarineParents.com's
Care Package Project dollar campaign for our pack day on July 28, set out a jar
at work and encourage your colleagues to drop in donations. Don't be shy. Hit up
the boss, your coworkers, the guy who comes to repair the copy machine.

Send us your donations weekly, and we'll announce who raised the most money in an
upcoming Marine Parents newsletter story.

Remember, all the donations go toward sending 1,800 care packages to our Marines
serving in Afghanistan combat zones. Help us raise the shipping funds by setting
out a jar at work. (You might want to rinse it out first, though.)

Thank you!

We Can Help Promote Your Event

Marine Parents gets the word out for you

Are you holding an event in your community to honor Marines or support Marine families?
Or perhaps you're staging a memorial event to remember one of your fallen heroes
who gave everything in the fight for freedom.

You want to build awareness, to promote your event beyond your immediate community.
And that's where MarineParents.com can help.

Right now, among other events, we're promoting the Operation Tyler - Building for
America's Bravest Concert in Missouri and the Jerabek Challenge in Wisconsin. We
promote these events on our Marine Family Network website, which has thousands
of members who log on each day "to connect and share."(TM)

If you would like help promoting your event, contact us, and MarineParents.com will
lend a hand.

MotoMail Gets to Troops in a Hurry

Photos can be sent, too

Your Marine is deployed in Afghanistan, with all that deployment entails. That
can mean your Marine goes days or weeks without Internet service, days or weeks
without being able to connect with you, days or weeks without hearing your voice
or seeing your face -- and vice versa.

The separation seems like forever.

You could wait for an infrequent -- and brief -- Internet connection, but you have
no way of knowing when that might occur. You could write a letter and send it
through U.S. mail, but from 10,000 miles away, it might take up to two weeks for
your Marine to receive it; too long, too long from what you're feeling now.

Or you could use MotoMail.

Picture That: You Wearing Our Gear

Send us your photos!

MarineParents.com wants you -- to send photos of your family decked out in the apparel
you buy from us.

It could be your family at graduation, all sporting red 1st Battalion T-shirts (or
yellow 2nd Btn. or blue 3rd Btn.). Or maybe your whole family has relationship-specific
T-shirts such as "The Few, The Proud the Father of a United States Marine." Or maybe,
just maybe, you're wearing a Semper Gumby T-shirt because you're always flexible.

So get snapping, and send us photos of you and your family wearing clothing from
our EGA Shop at our email address MP@MarineParents.com. You just might wind up
in our slideshow!

MarineParents.com, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) public charity. MarineParents.com, Inc.,
was founded in January, 2003 in response to parents' needs to find information
and to have "a place to connect and share(TM)" with one another during their Marine's
career. Our free online services and connections have expanded to support and educate
Marine moms and dads, spouses, families and friends. We've helped 400,000 Marine
and recruit families during boot camp, training, active duty and deployments. We've
shipped more than 33,000 care packages overseas to our Marines in Iraq and Afghanistan,
sent 60,000 prayers and letters to injured Marines and served thousands of meals
to wounded heroes and their families on the East and West coasts. You've found
"a place to connect and share(TM)."
