By and large, I do not shy away from stocks of companies that have their primary facilities based outside of the United States. In fact, in a previous life, I managed an international mutual fund and covered emerging market stocks.
When one hears of opportunities to invest in emerging companies that have domiciles other than the U.S., there is usually a bit of a pushback. Part of the reason for an investor's hesitation to take a flier on such an opportunity is that many of these stocks represent companies largely in China, Latin America, or perhaps even Europe. Frankly, there seems to be just too much risk.
Every once in a while, however, we find stocks off the beaten path that have extraordinary potential, despite the risk.

Why You should Read Filings
I have a daily ritual that I perform each morning as I get ready for the market day. This ritual dates back about 15 years when I decided that I had to be on top of everything as early as possible. It may not surprise you to hear that I routinely devour news and information online (and in paper form) from over a dozen sources before the market opens. This is on top of the information I digest over the course of the day and late at night to prepare for the next day.
I know many of you do much of the same. The way people write today (myself included), grammar went out the window, as did the use of multi-syllabic words and anything that might push the envelope beyond a 5th grade reading level.
