Good morning Andrew,
Metals are edging higher as the new trading week gets underway....Traders are noting a firm Euro currency in advance of yet another regional European finance summit scheduled for today....Optimism reigns supreme this morning with the Euro currently up 36/100ths of a U.S. cent at $1.2309......
In London metals trading we find Silver up 25 cents at $27.31 per ounce.....Gold is $1585.00 up $5.00.......Palladium sits at $585.00 up $5.00.....Platinum is our lone exception; trading lower by $4.00 at $1448.00.....
On the energy front the price of Oil is 53 cents higher as a weaker Dollar and never ending hopes for Europe nudge prices higher....Last trade $84.98 per barrel....
In New York we find Dow futures indicating a 49 point lower open as traders continues to groan about last Friday's disappointing jobs report....Forget the political spin for a moment and realize that 80,000 new jobs does not even keep up with the number of new people entering the work place.......The Dow got hammered to the tune of 124 points on Friday.....On a positive note traders are getting ready for the next wave quarterly corporate earnings reports and remain optimistic that America's corporate earning's did not fall off a cliff for last quarter....Earnings season kicks off today......
That's it.....Have a good morning.....
