600 events already!

Mozilla Webmaker

Hi Indiana,

We're now about 2/3 of the way through the Summer Code Party — and we're gearing up to finish strong.

What's happened so far has been incredible, from 100+ people at our New York event with Tumblr; to a webfest with physicists in CERN; to 74 people at a hackjam in Pune, India; to hundreds of smaller groups gathered around kitchen tables all over the world.

We've already had more than 600 events in at least 77 countries, with approximately 4,250 participants, but the party isn't over. Our goal for this summer is to get as many people involved in webmaking as possible — and we've got more than a month left.

Read more about what's already happened this summer here.

And we're cooking up a couple more things to make the last month fun and exciting in new ways:

Themed parties. Instead of just a regular kitchen table, why not throw one at the beach while you're there with friends? Or on a holiday before the summer ends? Or maybe get people involved before heading back to school? Find out more and get started here.

End-of-summer show-and-tells. The Summer Code Party ends on the weekend of September 22 & 23, and we want to make sure everyone has a chance to debrief, share what they've made, and get excited for more. We'll have a few Mozilla-led events happening in cities where we have offices, but this will also be something that anyone can host (and can scale from as small to as large as you'd like). If you already know you want to host one you can get started now, but otherwise please just plan on something fun that weekend!

So that'll be it for the Summer Code Party — keep up the great making, and I can't wait to see what comes out of the next month!

Mark

P.S. — I also wanted to make sure you knew about the Mozilla Festival, which follows quite nicely on the Summer Code Party. Essentially a 3-day-long webmaking party in London this November 9–11, it's a great event where we'll build awesome things to make the Web a better place, together. That's it for now — have a great rest of the summer, and keep it up!
