After closing their iconic, fire-ravaged MLK location in 2007, Bert's just reopened on 24th St in a former Wing Zone, where they'll serve their oak-smoked, salt/peppered brisket alongside Smokey Denmark sausages, both of which get combined with beans and sauce in a monstrous 2lb Frito pie called the Turbo. According to legend Leonard Davis once downed three of these coma-inducers, ironically giving him strength enough to ensure nobody hit the sack.

10 Hours of BBQ: Texas Q Tour, Spicewood

The Man Up Texas BBQ blogger's hosting another epic smoked-meat bus pilgrimage this weekend (see how these things work right here), expanding capacity from 24 to 48 and rolling out to Spicewood to visit Opie's and Cooper's, while also making pit-stops at Cuvee Coffee and Spicewood and Stone House vineyards, where they can throw rocks at whoever they want and face absolutely no repercussions.

Austin's best convenience-store-cum-Indian-restaurant-cum-brewpub has just cranked out its first original beer, the Brahmale: a "post-colonial" (as opposed to Imperial) IPA that clocks in at 10% ABV and takes its distinct flavor from grapefruit zest, generous dry hopping, Goodflow Honey, and a lemongrass tea topping at the point of kegging, officially making it the first keg ever to be teabagged.
