The last new restaurant to open out by Gosman's Dock was nearly a decade ago. A decade. Think about that. Now stop thinking about it, lest other people beat you for a res at newcomer Swallow East.

Walk past the nautically flagged waiting area (assuming you didn't hesitate for too long on that res), and you'll enter a dining room that's got more exposed wood than a dirty home video of Elijah and Evan Rachel, walls lined with photos of local fishermen, and windows looking onto a bright patio that in turn looks out onto the docks. There're oysters, snow crab clusters, and steamed PEI mussels from the raw bar, tacos stuffed with coolness like striped bass and fried clams, and earth-ier stuff from Angus burgers with homemade tomato jam & brie, to "Peeking" Duck Confit served on a steamed bun, so finally enjoy peeking buns without getting slapped. Or, you can dock yourself at the bar and relax with 15 bottled beers, four taps (including Montauk Brewing Co.'s Driftwood), 36 wines, and 'tails like the Sailor Jerry Rum Punch, or the raspberry vodka/chocolate liqueur First Kiss (...actually, feel free to Sailor Jerry Rum Punch any guy you see drinking that).

They also host live music throughout the week, with local reggae bands on weekends and the occasional karaoke night -- though you better be decent, or people with a res will sort of have a right to beat you.
