In order to stay on top of its burgeoning community, the service has taken some pretty big leaps when it comes to adapting to different technologies faster than companies who are not dealing in open source. The development team behind Asterisk recently shut down the Mantis version of its software on August 28 as one of the many ways the group has used it to move forward in the market.  Asterisk made it clear that Mantis had been pretty much an afterthought for the company for the better part of the last year and that the permanent move to Jira was really more of a formality than any kind of revolutionary switchover...
