Alcatel-Lucent has joined forces with VMware to provide an application fluent data center network that is completely pre-integrated with VMware's hypervisor vCenter to support virtual machine mobility, taking a significant step in breaking down the Application - network silos. Knowing this, BT (News - Alert) has updated its UC portfolio, BT One, with new cloud services to improve collaboration. Having surveyed 1,000 executives of large enterprises, BT found several services that were in demand. All of those are now available in its BT One portfolio, meeting the needs according to behavioral factors and changes in working cultures and influential groups. The survey uncovered a few interesting facts about the adoption of unified communications, such as its higher rate in countries with growing economies, as compared to those facing challenges.
